The Advancing 80s: HVACR Advertising in the Great Decade of Reagan

Aug. 8, 2014
The HVACR industry was, as our editors described it in January, 1980, "facing perhaps the most challenging and potentially the most rewarding period in its history."
Let's just say, "Tear down this wall!" and leave it at that. (Now THAT, and the headline should generate some comments,
and at least one vitriol-laced email.)

Greatness in innovation was seen in HVACR too, as the 1980s commenced. The HVACR industry was, as our editors described it in January, 1980, "facing perhaps the most challenging and potentially the most rewarding period in its history."

Why? For one, we wrote that energy was the "wildcard" that was altering the industry's methods, and imposing new demands on equipment/system design. The workforce, too, was going to be tested, as new skillsets were coming into the picture.

Here's a look at the advertising of the HVACR industry of the 1980s. Read about them at the right, and download PDF copies below if you like.
