ORLANDO, FL — The Carson-Holohan Award, an award passed down only every other year to a member of the hydronics community who has exemplified excellence in the hydronics industry, and contributed to the education of steam and hot water heating,( as well as the recruitment of youth to the trades and fund raising for building construction), was awarded this year to Bob "Hot Rod" Rohr.
The ceremony this year took place at the Cuba Libere Restaurant, only a few minutes walk from the Orlando Convention Center where the 2020 AHR Expo is being held. Included in the ceremony were such notables from the PHC industry as Dan Holohan, Dave Yates, Mark Eatherton, Ingrid Mattsson and more.
Rohr has been a plumbing, radiant heat and solar contractor and installer for 30 years. Rohr is a longtime Radiant Professionals Alliance member and Plumbing Engineer and PHC News columnist. Rohr joined Caleffi North America as manager of training and education back in 2010.
Rohr was visibly moved by the presentation, and said he was grateful to an industry and a profession that had given him so much.
