EXPO Report: Day 2 Highlights
The 2014 AHR Expo will have over 1,800 exhibitors that will be showcasing thousands of products and technologies at the 66th annual International Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigerating Exposition. This year’s event will take place at the Javits Center in New York City, January 21-23, 2014.
Show officials have confirmed that exhibiting companies have reserved 387,000-sq.ft. of booth space, which exceeds the space reserved for the 2008 AHR Expo in New York City by 6%. The show will offer dozens of free educational sessions, a new product technology theater, and a cyber café for attendees. There will be numerous educational courses and certification testing hosted by industry groups for a nominal fee. The 2014 AHR Expo Innovation Award winners will be honored at a special ceremony on January 22, at the Javits Center.

Dave Yates — The well-known plumbing, heating and solar contractor, Yates is president of F.W. Behler in York, Pa., and a monthly columnist for CONTRACTOR magazine
John Barba — Director of training and education for Taco, Inc. in Cranston, R.I., John’s wit and humor are a great mix for the panel. This 2012 Carlson-Holohan award winner is one of the leading proponents on hydronics and heating training.
Bob “Hot Rod” Rohr — Having been a plumbing and hydronic contractor for nearly 25 years, Hot Rod is now the educational & training manager for Caleffi, North America in Milwaukee.
Eric Aune — A plumbing, hydronic and solar contractor (Aune Plumbing LLC), this small contracting company from the Minneapolis area knows full well how to deal with the current economic situation. He works in solar, hydronics, plumbing, boiler and tankless installations, and other high-efficiency products to remain competitive as a small shop.
Brian Nelson — As co-owner of Nelson Mechanical Design, Brian Nelson is a Master Plumber and has a Masters Degree in engineering and the creativity of a jazz saxophonist. This progressive contractor won a 1st Place Green Mechanical Award in addition to being Contractor Mag’s 2010 Contractor of the Year.
