Bruce Buchholz Steps in at Source
Bruce Buchholz has been named president and chief executive officer of Source Refrigeration & HVAC, Anaheim, CA. Buchholz replaces Lauren Abrams, who resigned as CEO of Source in February, for medical reasons. Abrams joined Source in 2009 as chief operating officer, and was named CEO in April of 2011 (see http://bit.ly/cblaurenabrams).
“Lauren brought high energy, and a level of commitment that have been evident to all of those who had the privilege of working with her,” says Source Chairman, Brad Howard. “Her relentless dedication to customer service excellence and business process improvements has made Source a better company for our customers and employees. We thank Lauren for her leadership and wish her well in her recovery.”
Buchholz has been a senior executive in the HVAC industry for over 25 years. He brings to Source extensive leadership experience in domestic and international operations. Most recently, he led two companies focused on environmentally “green” solutions in the HVAC and clean technologies markets (see http://bit.ly/cbbuchholz).
Fresh & Easy Store Achieves GreenChill Platinum Status
The Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market located in Folsom, CA, has received the Platinum-Level Store Certification Award from the Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Partnership for green refrigeration technology. The platinum award puts Fresh & Easy in an elite group among the nation’s 36,000 grocery stores. This is just the second store in California, and one of just four grocery stores in the U.S. to reach GreenChill’s challenging leak reduction standards.
Fresh & Easy’s Folsom store features Hill PHOENIX Second Nature medium temperature fixtures and walk-ins running on glycol and low temperature fixtures and walk-ins running on carbon dioxide (C02).
The store’s refrigeration system uses a 70-pound refrigerant charge, which represents a 98% reduction, when compared to typical supermarket systems.
