LG Electronics USA has introduced a new series of heat pump duct-free split HVAC products, the LG Mega Inverter line, combining technological advances with a sleek, modern style to provide what company sources describe as an elegant HVAC solution.
"The LG Mega Inverter represents the next step forward for inverters, providing the ultra-quiet operation and high energy efficiency that customers have come to expect from LG's duct-free products, at an attractive price point," says Kevin McNamara , vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning, LG Electronics USA. "As the duct-free market continues to expand, we feel this is the right time to introduce new, more economical options for LG's growing customer base," McNamara says.
Available in 9,000, 12,000, 18,000 and 24,000 Btu/h capacities, the LG Mega Inverter is ideal for applications demanding higher efficiencies, including a wide range of residential and light commercial settings. The LG Mega Inverter has achieved Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings (SEER) from 16.3 (9,000 Btu/h model) up to 17.0 (24,000 Btu/h), providing a high-powered, high-efficiency solution.
Driving this efficiency are LG innovations at the core of the Mega Inverter, including the inverter-driven brushless DC (BLDC) compressor. Sources say that with the power of a neodymium magnet, the compressor offers improved efficiency over a traditional AC inverter, effectively minimizing oil circulation with an oil-separator system, increasing motor efficiency and reducing compression loss. This improvement over traditional AC inverters maintains the variable speed inherent to an inverter, allowing the LG Mega Inverter to save energy by intelligently running at the necessary speed to maintain a comfortable climate in the space, instead of switching on and off constantly, wasting energy and producing undesirable temperature swings.
The LG Mega Inverter features a 15-degree skew tilted stabilizer that minimizes surface pressure on the fan blade, reducing ambient noise to as low as 19 dB in sleep mode, about half that of an average library.
To help contractors to install the inverter faster and more easily, the LG Mega Inverter offers a wider tubing space, wider installation plate and a detachable bottom cover. The outdoor model offers a footprint as small as 28 1/4 x 19.1/32 x 9.1/16 inches, reducing space needs both outside and indoors to give architects and contractors more options when installing HVAC systems.
The LG Mega Inverter is available now for delivery throughout the United States. More information on LG's DFS technology as well as the complete portfolio of LG Commercial Air Conditioning solutions can be found at www.lghvac.com.
