Contracting businesses working to install HVAC will likely see business thrive over the next couple of years, as a recently white paper published by CMD said sales reached $50 billion in 2014 in both the U.S. and Canada. High-rise structures are the current big-ticket item across the industry. This will only get better, according to Consulting-Specifying Engineer.

Regardless, U.S. producers of HVAC equipment can be optimistic about their potential sales over the next 2 years. They will see an ongoing cyclical improvement in construction and trends within the various types of structures that will give them a boost. Some telling statistics from this white paper include:

  • U.S. HVAC sales and shipments increased 1.7 percent from 2013 to 2014, with new orders up by 5.4 percent.
  • Canada saw even better movement, with an increase of 10.4 percent in the same period and a new order increase of 17.5 percent.
  • Unfilled orders were 19.5 percent in the U.S. and 12.3 percent in Canada
