Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., has reached 100,000 downloads on its HVAC Check & Charge™ mobile app, making it the company’s most popular app.
The HVAC Check & Charge mobile app earned honorable mention in the 2014 AHR Expo awards. The app has also been recognized as one of the top 10 apps for skilled trades by IT Business Canada.
The Check & Charge app also won a 2012 Comfortech Product Showcase award.
“The app was designed to allow contractors to perform their jobs quicker,” said Karl Zellmer, vice president of sales, Emerson Climate Technologies Inc., Air Conditioning business. “It’s a great tool for busy contractors, and it’s a good replacement for the old sliding charge calculators, so to see that it has reached 100,000 downloads shows us that it’s doing everything that we hoped it would," Zellmer said.
The HVAC Check & Charge app provides an on-site refrigerant charge calculator for air conditioning applications. The app allows contractors to easily calculate correct system refrigerant charge for R-22 or R-410A.
To use the app, contractors choose between subcooling, superheat or airflow and enter the specified system temperatures along with the latent sensible environment loads. These settings determine the proper system charge and whether the charge amount needs to be altered based on these conditions.
The HVAC Check & Charge mobile app is part of the Emerson Climate Technologies HVACR Mobile Toolbox. Designed to give HVACR contractors on-the-go access to tools and resources that will help them do their jobs quickly and more profitably, the Mobile Toolbox currently includes many other HVAC contractor apps available for free download at www.emersonclimate.com/mobileapps.
