Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) and Air-conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) are asking HVAC contractors across the United States to complete a brief survey on furnace installations.
Feedback will help demonstrate the true cost of compliance with the recently proposed nationwide 92% AFUE standard for residential gas furnaces that would take effect in 2021.
According to ACCA, in the DOE's economic analysis for this proposal, the agency makes certain assumptions about the costs and markups for installations in existing homes and in new construction. In order to better evaluate DOE's assumptions and economic analysis, ACCA and AHRI developed this short survey for contractors across the country. Because the proposed standard would apply nationwide, ACCA leadership believes it's critical that all ACCA members complete the survey.
