Every year, Dwyer Group adds an additional holiday to the calendar in Waco, Texas, to remember the person who made the company possible. On Oct. 31, Dwyer Group will host the 21st Annual Founder’s Day celebration, where fun is a requirement.
“This is a time for us to take a break from the everyday work routine, remember why Don Dwyer Sr. created this company, listen to great speakers, give back to the community and even work on personal development across a variety of topics,” said Mike Bidwell, president and CEO of Dwyer Group. “Don wanted all his employees to not only be successful, but to live better, happier lives. That’s what Founder’s Day is all about.”
After Don Dwyer Sr. passed away in 1994, Founder’s Day was created as an annual event. This year’s activities include the annual team photo; a Stop Hunger Now food packet project; and a keynote speech from Alice Starr, wife of Baylor President Ken Starr. Then associates are invited to attend breakout sessions on topics ranging from simple investing with disposable income, effective public speaking, time management, leading with purpose, goal setting and more.
