WaterFurnace Announces Geothermal Upgrade Event

Aug. 10, 2016
The Geo-to-Geo package is for homeowners upgrading an existing geothermal system. Instant rebates are $500, $1000 or $2000.

WaterFurnace International, Inc., has started a Geothermal Upgrade Event that offers up to $2,000 to homeowners switching to geothermal from traditional heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and as much as $1,000 to those upgrading their existing geothermal system.

From July 1 through December 9, WaterFurnace will offer homeowners two rebate packages on the company’s most efficient and comfortable geothermal heat pumps—the 7 Series and 5 Series. Homeowners switching from traditional HVAC to geothermal can take advantage of the Switch-to-Geo package, which comes with a $2,000 instant rebate to those who install a 7 Series unit with accessories or a $1,000 instant rebate on a 5 Series unit with accessories.

The Geo-to-Geo package is for homeowners upgrading an existing geothermal system. This package offers a $1,000 instant rebate on the 7 Series or a $500 instant rebate on the 5 Series.

“With the 30 percent federal tax credit set to expire at the end of this year, this is the perfect time to take advantage of these rebate programs,” said Tim Litton, WaterFurnace director of marketing communications. “Homeowners who install a 7 Series or 5 Series geothermal unit will benefit from greater comfort, greener system operation and incredible yearly savings on heating, cooling and hot water.”

The variable capacity 7 Series 700A11 is the industry’s first fully launched variable capacity residential unit and the only unit to surpass both the 41.0 energy efficiency ratio (EER) and 5.3 co-efficient of performance (COP) efficiency barriers. These ratings are vastly greater than ordinary conditioning systems and 30 percent higher than current two-stage geothermal heat pumps. Available in 1-ton to 6-ton capacities, the 5 Series 500A11 offers a 28 EER and 4.8 COP.

Both units use the renewable solar energy stored in the ground to provide savings up to 70 percent on heating, cooling, and hot water.
