Emerson Introduces New Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat

June 1, 2017
The new Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat with color display and Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat both offer best-in-class installation for either homeowners or contractor.

Emerson has launched the next evolution of its nationally recognized smart thermostat. The new Sensi™ Touch Wi-Fi® Thermostat combines proven smart home technology with a color touchscreen display and sleek, minimalist appearance that will be at home in any modern living space.

Emerson’s new Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat—along with an updated version of the classic Sensi™ Wi-Fi® Thermostat—is now compatible with smarthome management platform Apple HomeKit™, bringing simple and secure control using the Apple Home app on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, or voice using Siri. The new Sensi thermostats will build upon the brand’s legacy of connecting precise temperature control and convenience to ensure the highest level of home comfort.

“When we introduced the Sensi thermostat just three years ago, we knew that our industry-leading position in HVAC controls, combined with our expertise in system connectivity, would enable us to develop a superior product,” said Robert T. Sharp, executive president of Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions. “As we’ve continued to learn from our customers, homeowners are gravitating toward simple smarthome solutions that make life easier. Our latest Sensi thermostats combine enhanced capabilities, including support for Apple HomeKit with simple and secure controls, and a sleek new interface with a proven home comfort experience that puts users firmly in control of their environment, anytime and from anywhere.”

The new Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat with color display and Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat both offer best-in-class installation for either homeowners or contractors, with step-by-step instructions and video tutorials in the Sensi smartphone app. Customers can use the new geofencing proximity detection feature or flexible scheduling options to achieve energy savings without compromising their comfort. Both thermostats use smart alerts to notify customers of extreme temperatures and humidity levels. The Sensi mobile app has also received extensive updates, including a dashboard with individual thermostat cards. This enhanced display provides multiple thermostat users an easy overview into their whole-home comfort settings.

In addition to the Apple HomeKit integration, both Sensi thermostats are compatible with smarthome platforms Amazon Alexa and Wink, providing a seamless experience for smarthome users.

Emerson’s Sensi thermostat ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Smart Thermostats” in the inaugural J.D. Power 2016 Smart Thermostat Satisfaction ReportSM—so customers who choose a Sensi thermostat can feel confident in their selection. But with two new thermostats to select, customers may be wondering: What’s the difference?

The Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat has a high-definition, color touchscreen and a clean design to fit the modern home. The Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Thermostat also has illuminated terminals for increased visibility while wiring and easy-click terminals that eliminate the need for a screwdriver. Additional menu options enable users to customize the information on the home screen display and to choose a continuous back glow for soft lighting in dark hallways or rooms.

The updated Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat doesn’t require a common wire (c-wire) for most installations. Apple HomeKit users will require the c-wire for Siri voice control.

With Apple HomeKit support, customers can quickly and easily set up and securely pair their new Sensi thermostats with their iPhone or iPad, add it to their home set-up, integrate with other HomeKit accessories through the creation of scenes, and begin controlling the temperature in their home using the Apple Home app, Siri, or Control Center.

The new Sensi thermostats will be available in early summer at retail stores, online marketplaces, through HVAC contractors and at sensicomfort.com.
