Source 1™ and RCM Heating and Cooling, in New Lenox, Ill., teamed up to provide World War II veteran Wade Krohn with a new YORK® home comfort system. Krohn won the YORK LX Series 13 SEER Air Conditioner as part of Proud American Days, an annual four-day festival organized by the New Lenox Community Park District.
“We wanted to show long-term support for a local veteran by organizing a raffle to give away a furnace and air-conditioning system,” said William Ward, president of RCM Heating and Cooling. Ward enlisted the help of Source 1, the exclusive supplier of factory-authorized service parts and residential accessories for all Johnson Controls Unitary Products residential and light commercial heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment, including YORK, Luxaire®, Coleman®, Fraser-Johnston®, and Guardian® brands. SOURCE 1 also offers a broad variety of universal HVAC parts, supplies and accessories from many manufacturers.
Following the Military Tribute portion of the festival, Ward announced Krohn as the winner of the raffle. Krohn served in the United States Air Force and is an active member of the community, including the local Harry E. Anderson VFW Post 9545.
In addition to the raffle, Johnson Controls supports veterans through its sponsorship of Building Homes for Heroes, a national nonprofit organization that recognizes the tremendous sacrifices of men and women of the United States Armed Forces by supporting the needs of severely wounded or disabled soldiers and their families. The organization strives to build or renovate quality homes and gift them to severely injured veterans nationwide, mortgage-free. Through its sponsorship of the Building Homes for Heroes program, Johnson Controls, along with YORK distributors and independent contractors nationwide, has donated quality heating and cooling systems, including installation, labor and on-going maintenance, to over 55 military families since 2014.
