ACCA Announces 45-day Public Review of Residential HVAC Maintenance Standard

June 25, 2018
The 45-day public review period began on June 15, 2018 and closes on July 30, 2018.

Arlington, VA June 14, 2018 – The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) announces the First Public Review of BSR/ACCA 4 QM - 201x (Maintenance of Residential HVAC Systems). The 45-day public review period begins June 15, 2018 and closes on July 30, 2018.

ACCA's Quality Maintenance Standard provides minimum requirements for the maintenance inspections performed by HVAC contractors for heating and air-conditioning equipment in residential buildings.

The standard includes checklist tasks for inspecting, testing, and measuring electrical, controls, mechanical, venting, air distribution, and piping systems of residential HVAC systems. The checklists also provide recommended corrective actions which the HVAC contractor shall present to the homeowner to remedy identified faults like cleaning, adjusting, and/or replacing equipment and components on a periodic basis.

A copy of the proposed Standard can be downloaded for free from www.acca.org/ansi.  Comments on this public review must be submitted by July 30, 2018 (5:00 P.M. EDT) using the ACCA Public Response Form (available from www.acca.org/ansi/).
