New CB Website

A New CB, for Enhanced Learning

June 30, 2017
The ContractingBusiness.com website has migrated to a new and improved platform, for enhanced readability and navigation, and other benefits.

Welcome to the new Contracting Business website.

The Penton Energy & Buildings Group has completed modifications to our Internet and print publications. They all have a fresh new look, but most importantly, continue to provide the same great business-building content you expect. You can see similar improvements at CONTRACTOR and HPAC Engineering.

This new CB Internet site will be much easier to access and read, on whatever device you may be using — desktop computer, tablet or smartphone. Providing a website that’s easy to read on a phone is important. Our metrics show that 38% of you are reading Contracting Business on your phones, and that number continues to expand.

Our websites have been optimized for mobile devices using a responsive design, and include an improved overall user experience emphasizing real-time interactions and deep content engagement.

Features include:
• Modern design
• Infinite scroll content pages for improved user engagement
• Richer content visuals, including videos, photos and our always-popular galleries.
• Faster page loading.

For product marketers whose messages are featured across our properties, we offer increased content consumption, prominent ad locations, higher visitor engagement, and improved click-through rates, so you can better connect with our audience.

Other new features include:
• Improved ad viewing
• Ad positions that provide optimal visibility within content
• Multiple new ad units, such as rich media, expandables and high impact banners.
• Advanced targeting capabilities
• Enhanced sponsored and native content formats.

More Business Topics by Popular Experts
For some time now, we’ve been adding a new category of topics, an outgrowth of our partnership with the Electric & Gas Industries Association. EGIA has launched Contractor University, an education program combined with membership services to provide online and in-person educational programs and access to a team of well-know contracting industry educators, including Weldon Long, Ellen Rohr, Gary Elekes and Mark Matteson. It includes online classes, such as the HVAC Sales Academy. That educational content is found on ContractingBusiness.com, in the new section called Contracting Business Success, which presents everything contractors need to run a more successful and profitable business, from our various contributors.

In addition, we will offer more stories on smart technology, facility management and connected buildings/Internet of Things — all of which continue to grow in importance across all construction trades.

DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER SOON FOR CONTRACTOR LEADERSHIP LIVE, A must-attend event for motivated contractors, to help you kick off a year-round training experience for your team, develop a new company culture (or refresh your existing culture) and provide you access to a powerhouse line up trainers.

Contractor Leadership LIVE, the national conference, will take place September 12-14, 2017, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: Are there any topics you'd like us to cover to assist with your business management strategy? Or, just tell us about how your business is succeeding and why. Use the Comments tool below, or write to me at [email protected].
