EMCOR Group, Inc. announced that Robert Turner, President and CEO of its Tucker Mechanical operation located in Meriden, CT, has been recognized by the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) with its highest honor---its Distinguished Service Award---for the year 2010.
Mr. Turner was presented the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and service to MCAA and the mechanical contracting industry at MCAA’s Annual Conference held this year in Maui, HI.
This was the second consecutive year that an EMCOR subsidiary officer has been honored by MCAA with this prestigious award----last year it was presented to Steve Shirley, President and CEO of University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors (UMEC) in CA.
Mr. Turner is a past President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Connecticut where he has served on its Board of Directors and as Labor Chairman since 1986. On a National level, Bob recently completed a six-year term on the National Board of Directors of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. During his tenure on the Board, he also served as Chairman for MCAA’s Advanced Leadership Institute at Babson College, MCAA’s Audit Committee and as a committee member for the MCAA / United Association Green Alliance Committee. Bob has also taught an Accredited Mechanical Construction course for Central Connecticut State University.
Mr. Turner commented, “It is truly humbling to be honored by my colleagues in this way. I am exceptionally proud to stand with the people of Tucker Mechanical and their outstanding work for our clients, as well as our community. And it is with them, I share this award.”
“It has been said that volunteers are seldom paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless; and indeed, it would hard to quantify Bob Turner’s many contributions over the years to his industry and this association,” commented Bob Armistead, MCAA’s President.
