Carrier Corporation's second annual "Operation Heat Rescue" project has resulted in donations of more than one thousand window air conditioner units to charities in cities across the country during the summer's high temperatures.
The relief effort covered nine markets in August: New York,NY; Raleigh, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta,GA; Phoenix, AZ; Dallas, TX; Indianapolis, IN; St. Louis, MO; and Chicago, IL. In early August, temperatures in those cities reached the 100F mark.
With the help of local TV stations, Carrier identified charities that would distribute the units to those in need. To help people battle the heat, Carrier has donated more than 100 deluxe FCB Series in-window air conditioners in each market.
