The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council has confirmed that HARDI's Home Study Institute has met all current standards and is accredited for five years. The Council is a federally recognized national accrediting body for online and traditional distance learning schools serving the public and industry — including for-profit, nonprofit and military programs.
The Home Study Institute enrolls some 1,000 student-employees of member firms and customers every year. The specially designed print-base courses offer the support of e-mail, fax and on-line communication between employees and the experienced teaching faculty. The design of the technology-based courses provide a solid foundation in HVACR in a very short time.
Education Committee Chairman Dan Hinchman, Aireco Supply, when announcing the success of the grueling accreditation process, noted, “We know the school is excellent, now we must continue to expand the course offerings to better serve our membership.”
The Home Study Institute received accreditation in 1969 when members of the Education Committee decided that only a professionally run distance learning program, meeting the highest educational standards, could be truly effective. Given the growing demands on the time of employees and employers alike, the Home Study Institute makes an even more attractive HARDI service today.
