Corken Steel’s Randy Cobb Earns 50th HARDI Certified Counter Specialist Recognition
The HARDI Certified Counter Specialist (CCS) program is pleased to announce its 50th Certified Counter Person. Randy Cobb of Corken Steel Products Company’s Florence, KY branch received the designation in May of this year.
Randy joins an esteemed group of counter people who diligently spent 12-24 months going through the three levels that led up to the Certified Counter specialist designation. This is the highest level (Level IV) of certification for the Counter Certification program administrated through HARDI. The Certified Counter Specialist program was started in 2005 to recognize the professionalism of the men and women at the HVACR distributor counter.
“The education and knowledge I have received from completing the HARDI program has made me a better counter person,” states Cobb. His supervisors at Corken Steel agree adding, “Randy has always been at the head of the pack on the HARDI Counter Certification program. It was no surprise that Randy was the first at Corken Steel to reach HARDI’s highest level.”
The CCS program is the only program of its type where a counter person can expand his/her knowledge by following a prescribed checklist of competencies they can perform and training programs they can follow to reach the top level. Four levels total are designated as counter people work their way to becoming certified; Assistant Counter Specialist, Associate Counter Specialist, Senior Associate Counter Specialist and finally "HARDI" Certified Counter Specialist. Several hundred counter personnel are currently pursuing this designation given exclusively by HARDI.
