Grundfos UP Two-Way Zone Valves for hydronic heating applications incorporate a 24-VAC, normally closed, motorized actuator that is removable with the push of a built-in button for easier installation and servicing. With its compact and installer-friendly design, the in-line actuator features a high gear ratio that eliminates gear-tooth stress, water hammer and valve “bouncing” for virtually silent operation.

Available with or without a sealed auxiliary end switch, the actuator has an enlarged, coil-spring gear transmission that can deliver 20 psi (pounds per square inch) of close-off force at a flow rate of 7.5 Cv. (Note: Cv is defined as the number of gallons per minute at 60°F that will pass through a full open valve with a pressure drop of 1 psi.)

The valve body itself is made of durable forged brass, rated at 300 psi, with a two-way flow and a high Cv rating. All components are corrosion-resistant, including a stainless steel valve stem that controls a high-temperature EPDM paddle rated for fluids between 32°F to 240°F and up to Grundfos UP Zone Valves, continued50% glycol. Other standard features include a manual open/close lever and an easily removable bottom cap for cleaning out the valve without removing it from the pipeline.

Grundfos UP Zone Valves are offered in three different sizes: 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch and 1-inch with sweat connections, with or without an end switch. Also available is a 3/4-inch model with NPT (threaded) connections, again with or without the end switch. All models are UL-listed in the United States and Canada.
