Phil Gin Named CFO/COO at Polar Technology

Polar Technology officials announced the hiring of Phil Gin, recently of Baker Distributing, who will serve in the dual role of chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

Gin was most recently the Western Region vice president for Baker Distributing, a division of Watsco, a leading distributor of HVACR equipment and related parts and supplies in the HVACR distribution industry. Prior to that assignment, Gin was Baker Distributing's chief financial officer.

“I can't begin to say just how happy we are that Phil has decided to join our ranks at Polar Technology,” stated Ted Atwood, president and owner of Polar Technology.  “Phil brings a unique combination of industry experience in a variety of important disciplines – particularly in sales and finance.  As we continue with our transition from a company that was primarily in the reclamation business to one that specializes in comprehensive refrigerant management, Phil’s many levels of expertise will provide us with tremendous guidance and insight,” Atwood says.

Gin’s HVAC background includes 13 years with Habegger Corp. of Indianapolis, and seven years with United Technologies/Carrier. Gin also worked five years with the accountanting firm of Peat Marwick in Chicago.
