Bitzer The Octagon Varispeed series is Bitzer’s first line of intelligent compressors.According to company sources, its highlight is the integrated suction-gas-cooled frequency inverter. This system significantly lowers operating costs and ensures reliable and effective performance, even at high ambient temperatures. The maintenance-free frequency inverter and the easy installation and configuration are just some of the many benefits offered by the Bitzer compressor series. Bitzer’s Varispeed series is UL approved and can be applied with R134a, R404A, R507A, R407C and R22. bitzer.de/ circle 153
Danfoss
The ERC generation of parametric controllers are designed to increase energy efficiency and reduce production costs. The ERC refrigeration controller offers:
• steady operation in harsh environments (triple moisture protection)
• voltage protection algorithms for trouble free compressor operation in all climate conditions
• special algorithms for optimization under poor power supply conditions.

Emerson
Emerson Climate Technologies is releasing a new version of its E2 supervisory controller for retail facilities. The new version of the E2 offers open BACnet communication protocol, enabling retailers to interface with more devices. In addition, the new version of the E2 offers native integration with Emerson’s multi-zone infrared refrigerant leak detection device.
The E2 supervisory controller now comes equipped with 128 MB of RAM and a 500 MHz processor, providing retailers with faster application access and greater data logging capacity. A widened screen displays a system status bar containing a convenient breakdown of system advisories, network connectivity status and system configuration. The addition of a USB port enables system backup to preserve set points and other configurations.

Kysor/Warren’s innovative distributed scroll system has been redesigned with serviceability and improved life cycle climate performance (LCCP) in mind. Sources say the distributed scroll system reduces refrigerant charge up to 40% compared to a traditional centralized rack system and features a 35% reduction in brazed joints, drastically lowering the potential for leaks compared to the prior generation product. The space saving design maximizes merchandising space by eliminating the need for a machine room. Additionally, the reduction of field brazing joints results in easier installation. Hinged front doors provide quick access to scroll compressors.

Residential
light commercial and whole-house residential markets. The 4-ton 8-zone system is an energy-efficient (up to 18.8 SEER, and 11.3 HSPF) high-capacity heat pump system incorporating Daikin’s famed VRV technology, with the ability to connect from 2 to 8 indoor units with a single, compact outdoor unit. The inverter-driven compressor provides precise capacity adjustments for efficiency and accuracy in comfort control, and allows long piping lengths (up to 180-ft. to the branch provider, over 440-ft. total loop) for added installation flexibility. daikinac.comcircle 160
The mini-split systems’ smaller footprint eliminates the costs and hassles of installing ducts and bulky air handlers. The mini-splits use a wireless remote controller with a built-in temperature sensor that controls and satisfies cooling or heating set point temperatures wherever the remote control is located. joinluxaire.com
